How it started
Miss Brandi A. Neal is a distinguished musician, actress, and dedicated music educator known for her exceptional talent and unwavering commitment to her students. Her musical journey began at the age of nine, singing in church and taking piano lessons. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance, with a minor in Theatre. Brandi embarked on her teaching career in 2017, following her tenure as a College Admissions Counselor. Her ensembles have consistently earned Superior and Excellent Ratings at various choral and vocal competitions. Currently, she teaches piano and chorus to 9th-12th grade students and was awarded the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year.
Brandi's commitment to helping Fine Arts teachers goes beyond her roles as Department Chair and district leader; it is a personal mission rooted in her own experiences and observations. Having endured numerous uninspiring professional development sessions herself, Brandi empathizes deeply with educators who feel undervalued or unfulfilled in their roles. This empathy drives her to seek out innovative approaches and resources that can truly enrich the teaching experience in the arts.
How It’s Going
As a Literary Coach and Curriculum Writer, Brandi has developed a keen understanding of the challenges teachers face in implementing engaging and effective lessons. She dedicates significant time and effort to researching new methodologies, attending workshops, and collaborating with peers to stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in arts education. Through her involvement in the District's Leadership Program and her role with Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity, she actively networks with fellow educators and industry professionals to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to her colleagues.
Brandi's leadership extends beyond administrative duties; she fosters a supportive environment where Fine Arts educators can thrive creatively. She advocates for tailored professional development opportunities that address the unique needs of arts teachers, emphasizing practical skills development, curriculum enhancement, and the integration of technology in the arts. By empowering educators to leverage their creativity and teaching expertise, Brandi aims to cultivate a community of inspired teachers who are equipped to nurture the artistic talents and aspirations of their students effectively.
